Meet Stephanie Beam

Stephanie’s journey with horses began at the ripe old age of five. In an effort to “see if she’d get it out of her system,” her parents signed her up for lessons. Safe to say, that plan backfired beautifully! Horses quickly became a lifelong passion that she never outgrew.

While she grew up competing and riding in the hunter/jumper world, Stephanie’s curiosity led her far beyond a single arena. Over the years, she has immersed herself in a massive variety of disciplines, working alongside top trainers in:

  • Eventing & Dressage: Dressage (a French word meaning “training”) is all about developing the horse’s natural athletic ability, flexibility, and responsiveness. The goal is to make the horse perform highly complex movements with such subtle cues from the rider that it looks completely effortless.

  • Rider Biomechanics: Rider Biomechanics is the study of how the human body and the horse’s body interact mechanically while riding. Instead of just telling a student what position to hold (like “keep your heels down”), a biomechanics-focused instructor explains how to use your bones, muscles, and center of gravity to move in perfect harmony with the horse.

  • Western Riding: Western riding developed from the practical, everyday ranching traditions brought to America by Spanish vaqueros and adapted by American cowboys. Because cowboys spent long, grueling hours in the saddle tracking cattle across vast expanses of open land, the style evolved to prioritize ultimate comfort, endurance, and efficiency for both the horse and the rider.

  • Driving: Driving refers to controlling a horse (or a team of horses) from behind them, while sitting in a vehicle like a carriage, cart, or sleigh—or sometimes walking on foot behind them.

This diverse background has shaped her into an incredibly well-rounded horsewoman who understands how horses and riders move, think, and connect.

A Passion for the Basics & Building Confidence

Stephanie discovered her love for teaching back in her college days, and she hasn’t looked back since. She is a perfect fit for our stables because she genuinely loves working with students on the things that matter most: building deep confidence, perfecting strong basics, and ensuring every rider feels safe and capable.

Whether you are stepping into the stirrups for the very first time or refining your seat, Stephanie focuses on the correct fundamentals that keep riding fun and safe for a lifetime.

“My goal is simple: to create a safe, encouraging environment where riders can build confidence, learn correct fundamentals, and develop a lifelong love of horses.” — Stephanie Beam

Grounded in Real-World Horsemanship

When she isn’t at the barn with our students, Stephanie lives and breathes the equestrian lifestyle. She and her husband run a registered Percheron breeding program and a professional carriage business. Managing daily horse care and working closely with clients keeps her deeply grounded in the practical, everyday realities of safety, consistency, and top-tier horsemanship.

We couldn’t be more excited to watch our lesson program grow under Stephanie’s expert guidance. Please join us in giving her a massive, warm welcome next time you are at the stables!
